Part 61 Flight Schools in Pittsburgh!

**Note: This is not an exhaustive list and is being constantly updated. If you are a flight school or a CFI, please feel free to contact us to be included in the list**

Pittsburgh has a lot of GA airports and more often than not, most of these airports have one or more flight schools. While the availability of slots for Part 61 keeps changing dynamically, here is the list of schools that have been previously used by TFC members:

  1. KPJC: Condor Aero Club https://www.condoraero.com/

  2. KBTP: High Flight Academy https://www.highflightacademy.com/

  3. KBVI: Moore Aviation http://www.mooreaviation.com/

  4. KAGC: Pittsburgh Flight Training Center https://pghflight.com/

Things to look for are usually aircraft and CFI availability, cost, and travel times. One nice way to get acquainted with a particular flight school or CFI is to do a "Discovery Flight". Discovery Flights are usually around $100 and are highly recommended before commencing your training. Better yet, discovery flights can actually count towards instruction and you do not need AFSP approval (for international students)! Most of these places offer Discovery Flights so feel free to schedule one.

If you have any questions or need specific recommendations ask a question on the club forum!
